I linked some NERC regulations under LiDAR specifications. The NERC regulations are very vage on what is to be done to comply to the regulations using LiDAR. The transmission companies and engineering firms are approaching the compliance differently. The companies are looking at the LiDAR firms to get information on how to comply. It is clear that they perfer the helicopter approach or a very low altitude approach. Some are open to a fix winged approach but this can be limiting and may not provide the required information for NERC. Fixed Wing has it’s place in Transmission mapping. Comments and rebuttal welcome.
