There has been much discussion about the definition of DEM, DTM, DSM. There will continue to be much debate and discussion on the meaning of these terms. I think and as recommended by other well versed individuals in our industry, more can be learned for publications. One of the best description of these terms can be found in the book Edited by David F. Maune PhD, CP titled “Digital Elevation Model Technologies and Applications: The DEM Users Manual, 2nd Edition”.
