I always enjoy watching America Unearthed. Heck, my book started the show on December 21, 2012. Two things disappointed me about this episode. I was extremely interested in seeing the new high resolution image of Cahokia. The show spent several minutes inside the LIDAR airplane, recording idle chatter, but only provided a few seconds of the actual scan. The cameramen spent far more time showing the plane take off and land than on the actual scan. That is ridiculous. The entire program could have been focused on that particularly LIDAR scan.
Probably, like many people who read this website, I would LOVE to see the Cahokia LIDAR scan. Is it possible for it to be reproduced on this blog site?
Secondly, much of what was said about the Great Serpent Mound by the “expert” was caca de toro. There are many serpent mounds in the eastern United States. The oldest one, by several hundred years, is in Ortona, Florida, near Lake Okeechobee. If you are interested in learning more about the serpent mounds in North America, you can go to my Examiner article: http://www.examiner.com/article/serpent-mounds-north-america-a-fact-check
This was great – has anyone mapped the site they talked about prior to our segment?
